Caring For Your Shutters

Shutters are a beautiful addition to any home, no matter how big or small, or whatever character your home resembles. Most Plantation Shutters come in a white finish as they blend better with white window frames which are most popular throughout households. The white Shutters are a perfect choice as they make it harder to spot the dust building up on them.

Your beautiful shutters will look refreshing and clean upon fitting but how do you maintain this?

There are many ways to clean your wooden shutters. Whilst vacuuming your floors, you may attach a small brush attachment to the nozzle of your vacuum and hoover the dust away from the shutters. This is very effective , however you may risk scratching or damaging your shutters if you are not particularly careful.

You can also use a yellow duster or a mildly damp cloth, running this carefully along each wooden partition wiping either side of the shutter to collect all of the dust.

A feather duster is another option however this only moves the dust from one place to another.

You may also use a non wax polish on your shutters to treat and care for your wooden shutters.

Maintenance should be carried out approximately once a week to keep your wooden plantation shutters in great condition and dust free.
